Legendary singer Majek Fashek died in his sleep in New York at the age of 57 from yet to be disclosed illness

The Rainmaker rose to global prominence in 1991 with the hit song So Long Too Long coming on the heels of another hit song Send Down The Rain that earned him the title Rainmaker.

He also sang Free Mandela that agitated for the release of Madiba Nelson Mandela from Prison during the Apartheid era in South Africa.

At the prime of his carrier he collaborated with other musical legends like Jimmy Cliff, Tracy Chapman and Snoop Dog
