Leicester City have signed Nigeria international Ahmed Musa from CSKA Moscow in a four-year contract and club-record fee of about £18m. Ahmed is the Club’s fourth signing of the summer after Nampalys Mendy, Ron-Robert Zieler and Luis Hernandez.
The 23 year old move to the English Premiership League is coming on the heels of his spectacular performance at CSKA Moscow where he scored 54 goals in 168 games that culminated in the clubs winning of the 2015/16 Russian premier league title. Musa have scored 11 times in 58 appearances for Nigeria since making his international debut in 2010.
He is reputed as the first Nigerian international to score twice in a World cup finals match with the first goal coming just after four minutes of the game against Argentina in the 2014 Brazil World cup
Ahmed Musa made is international debut in 2010 at the age of 17 and have appeared in the country’s colours in the World Cup, Under-20 World Cup, Africa Cup of Nations and Confederations Cup
The prolific forward player gifted with natural speed and clinical finishing began his professional career on a loan deal loan from GBS Football Academy at Nigerian outfits JUTH and Kano Pillars to Dutch side VVV-Venlo in 2010. He scored eight times in 37 appearances before CSKA Moscow signed him in 2012 and spent four seasons with Russian giants .
Musa while speaking to Foxes player HD on his new signing said “I feel very happy joining Leicester City, for me it’s one of the best clubs and I feel very happy. I joined because it’s one of the best clubs in the Premier League and they are like a family. That’s why I joined Leicester City and I’m very excited”.
